Bills Proposed by the Colonial Government

Bill Number Description
1 Would allow any bank from the mother country to make loans to the Colonies at a rate of interest 50 percent lower than the current rate in the Colonies.
2 Would allow the tax on imported tools to be lowered 25 percent if sold to the public directly from the mother country.
3 Would allow new land to be purchased only in parcels of 20,000 acres and only with a 25 percent cash down payment.
4 Would require that food prices be lowered in the city at least 20 percent to control inflation.
5 Would prohibit travel, hunting, and settlement in any unsettled lands, to respect Indian territory.
6 Would require a city property tax to help pay for an army to be sent to the frontier to protect citizens and property.
7 Would require a 10 percent tax on furs imported from another country or territory.
8 Would limit the amount of paper money allowed to be printed by the colonial banks. The amount of gold and silver on hand cannot be affected.
9 Would allow free and unrestricted trade with France and all her Colonies.
10 Would allow the mother country to sell any unoccupied territory to any foreign country.
